Dr Brad is an Australian science communicator, TV host, author and podcaster who works as a GP in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
He appears regularly on The Today Show, The Drum, ABC Radio, triple j, Triple M, has presented Catalyst on the ABC and hosts several medical podcasts for health professionals. He's also on the editorial board of The Medical Republic.
Previously Dr Brad was the host of the Logie-nominated television program Embarrassing Bodies Down Under on Foxtel and Channel 9 — a show dedicated to decreasing stigma and raising awareness about traditionally 'taboo' topics.
Dr Brad is a member of the Immunisation Coalition, and an Ambassador for both the Immunisation Foundation, and the Stroke Foundation.
2019 - The real reason vaping is making people sick
The harmful effects of vaping are not linked to nicotine e-liquids but vaping cannabis, according to Doctor Brad McKay.
"What they [medical experts] are finding is that it doesn't seem to be related to any of the e-liquids containing nicotine if it is a regulated product. Those seem to be fine, we've been using those for about 20 years around the world," Dr. McKay told Today Extra.
There have been numerous incidents of people suffering serious respiratory illnesses after vaping. Just two weeks ago, US officials reported their first death from vaping.
These incidents, said Dr. McKay, are from a group of people who have been using predominantly illicit products in their e-cigarettes that contain cannabis or THC.
"They are adding that into the e-cigarettes, vaping that and getting lung inflammation and ending up in hospital," Dr. McKay said. More>>

Brad McKay is among a group of Australian doctors who believe vaping is a better alternative to cigarettes.
"Is vaping the new methadone? I suppose at this point in time it's a similarity," Dr McKay said.
