Couple who gave up cigarettes overnight said they "went to bed and woke to vaping and have not looked back." – Vaping Consumers

My wife and I both gave up cigarettes, after some 50 years of smoking, thanks to vaping, literally overnight. We finished the remaining cigarettes, went to bed and woke to vaping and have not looked back. Over the years we tried many times to quit. The usual cold turkey, which I don't normally mind after Christmas day, but this one was unpalatable.
We also spent hundreds of dollars on quit smoking programmes but inevitably drifted back to cigarettes. I conservatively estimate, when we swapped to vaping, that we saved in the region of $1200 a month. I shudder to think what the amount would be today as that was 11 years ago!
Our health and fitness has improved markedly and noticeably. After a routine Angiogram it was also noted that my lungs are over 90% clear thanks to switching from cigarettes to vaping. It is disingenuous for the health minister to claim that vaping represents a health hazard when cigarettes are still readily available without a prescription! Sadly, I believe our governments minister is guilty of misinformation.
It is highly questionable that the pharmacy model will work. I cynically consider this to be a tokenistic effort to appease objections to the legislation and highly impractical. Given that tobacco smoking is already regarded and known as a serious health risk it is absolutely bewildering to deny existing smokers a safer alternative. There is, in my opinion, a serious risk of vaping ex-smokers returning to cigarettes as a result of a vaping ban. Is this a responsible move from government?
What is really behind the anti-vaping zealotry?
