Husband & Wife Switch Together - Vaping Consumers

My wife and I have been vaping for over 7 years now and glad we made the change from smoking. Before I switched to vaping I was smoking about 25 smokes a day and my wife was double that. I started to get the smokers cough, and my health was going downhill. In the time I was a smoker I had tried all the quitting methods that were available including medication (Champix, which gave me nightmares).

I then heard about vapes from a friend at work, so I did my research, and I decided to give it a try. It took me about 6 months to stop smoking, but I did it and I haven’t looked back. My health improved and I wasn’t going to the doctors every 3 months with either a throat or chest infection. Not only did our health improve but the financial situation improved as well. We were able to take our kids out to places we couldn’t before due not having the money to do so.

I am a bus driver . . . and over the years I have seen the increase of adults taking up vaping and it wasn’t until Greg Hunt started to make waves about vaping that I started to see youths vaping as well. This is when the black market really took off. I will also add that I still see youths smoking cigarettes.

I support a regulated model like they have in New Zealand. Vaping products are sold by licensed retail outlets where you can get advice from people that know about the products that they are selling. Not only will it make it better for vapers to get the products that will help them for them to stay away from the cigarettes but will provide people with employment and the government with tax revenue.

I hope Australia supports a regulated model that will help thousands of Australians, that have already switched to vaping, to stay off the cigarettes and the thousands that will switch to vaping to get off the cigarettes in the future.
