Vaping has been a literal lifesaver for me; it is the only thing which has successfully kept me from smoking cigarettes. My health has improved dramatically, and I am no longer spending thousands of dollars a year on cigarettes. This vaping law turns me into a criminal for attempting to stay off cigarettes.
Other countries such as England and New Zealand have seen the value of vaping to their health system and are actively encouraging citizens to move away from cigarettes to vapes, whereas Australia for some absurd reason wants to give the market to big tobacco, which people will inevitably return to given the cost and difficulty.
The poorest and most vulnerable will be hurt by this law, it will force people to either return to smoking or use the black market for dangerous disposable vapes. Make no mistake, this law will kill people, and it will kill the most vulnerable.
Look at the New Zealand model for a system that is working and effective. It provides employment, encourages cigarette cessation, reduces disease, keeps people out of hospital and alive all while providing tax revenue.
