Pharmacy Model A Retrograde Step - Vaping Consumer

I had been a long term cigarette smoker, trying to quit to no avail with nicotine patches and the like. My breathing specialist suggested vaping as an alternative to cigarette smoking. I haven’t smoked cigarettes for over five years.

When the previous Government, under the stewardship of Health Minister Hunt, brought in the requirement of gaining a prescription for nicotine, I duly followed the law. I purchased my vape liquid from a reputable vape shop that specialises in vape products all within the currently legal laws. These vape liquids are Australian made. I purchase nicotine separately with a prescription.

I believe this requirement should be allowed to continue, namely, import nicotine with a prescription and vape products from dedicated Vape stores.

I don’t believe these type of retailers that are currently dedicated to providing a service to former smokers should be closed down because of rouge operators.

I believe there is a difference between Convenience stores (selling disposable vapes) and Vape stores, selling vape products (but not nicotine).

I believe the move to make vape and nicotine products only available in pharmacies will be a retrograde step. This will make it easier for people to purchase cigarettes than vape products for those wanting to want to stay off cigarettes. In my opinion, it will become easier to purchase cigarettes than vapes and vape products.

To purchase cigarettes, you do not currently need to satisfy to someone you are trying to stop smoking, yet this is a requirement to legally purchase vaping products.

Are we, as a society, trying to say vaping is more harmful than cigarette smoking?
