Vapes End A Lifelong Habit - Vaping Consumer

I am 62 years of age, and I had been a heavy smoker for 48 years. I started smoking when I joined the Army in 1979 and hadn’t stopped until November last year 2023 when I tried vaping as a last resort. I’ve tried just about everything before including gum, patches, inhalers, lozenges and prescription medication, all with no joy.
But I’m very happy to say I’ve not had any type of tobacco product since last year and also no cravings for cigarettes at all. Since using a graduated vaping program. I make my own vaping solution with Australian and New Zealand ingredients with a controlled nicotine reduction until I get to 0% nicotine levels, well at least that the was the plan, but impossible now.
Where I live in NSW, I cannot get access to any nicotine products within a 100km radius at any chemist. After speaking with over 20 Pharmacy’s in that area it has become crystal clear to me that chemists will not stock products and most of them are furiously opposed to this idea.
We need sensible strategies for dealing with illegal sales and strict rules around selling vaping products that help stamp out illegal sales but still allow people like me to access
support/products/expertise that our vape shop staff have in abundance, Similar to systems that currently operate in the U.K and NZ.
Many of my friends (at least 16 people) have been able to quit cigarettes thanks to good advice and access to safe vaping equipment from Vaping businesses and we all feel much healthier for it. This is something that only ex heavy smokers know and it’s a tool that actually works.
