Smoking is worse than vaping for individual health, smoking is a fire hazard, and smoking is more of a burden on the healthcare system and society in general. Please do not restrict access to nicotine vaping liquid and materials to such an extent that my only realistic legal option is to resume smoking.

Vapes and vape accessories should be able to be sold in retail locations much the same way as cigarettes are. I recommend looking at harm reduction reforms such as NZ. Long term, this is a viable, and a much more sustainable position that will really help Australians with addiction.

I fear these changes will prevent me from living a healthy life free from toxic cigarettes, make me a criminal, and I may be at risk of going back to smoking out of convenience or desperation.

I am a 37 yr old vaper who managed to quit a long term smoking habit with vaping. I tried many flavours and found caramel and vanilla type flavour to be the best for me.

I am an ex-smoker of more than 15 years, I’ve been using a vaporizer since June 2019, and I gain much satisfaction from it.

Vaping has been a literal lifesaver for me; it is the only thing which has successfully kept me from smoking cigarettes. My health has improved dramatically, and I am no longer spending thousands of dollars a year on cigarettes.

Consider adult vapers who are former smokers and not just youth vapers. Vaping should at least be as easy to access as deadly cigarettes.

Beyond the physical benefits, vaping has also had a profound impact on my mental well-being. Breaking free from the shackles of cigarette addiction has empowered me with a newfound sense of control over my life.

To me personally, & many, many vapers I have come into contact with, the availability of a wide range of flavours was KEY to my success. Nobody trying to get off cigarettes wants to vape tobacco or mint exclusively!

the move to make vape and nicotine products only available in pharmacies will be a retrograde step. This will make it easier for people to purchase cigarettes than vape products for those wanting to want to stay off cigarettes.

the prohibition of vapes would inadvertently benefit the tobacco industry, as users may resort to traditional cigarettes in the absence of legal vaping options

The lies and misinformation spread by health officials and Minister Mark Butler is actually embarrassing. Those that support and truly understand the benefits of vaping including many public Health professionals . . . find his misinformation highly ignorant.

A retail ban on vape products in this country will fuel an already thriving black market by shutting down legitimate operators which in turn, puts more (illegal) dodgy vapes in the hands of children and restricts access to adults who rely on the devices to not smoke cigarettes

I am concerned that this will impact the current vaping population by inducing many to return to smoking, causing notable upticks in the rates of smoking related diseases

I am also afraid there will be many that will go back to smoking which would be a tragedy. Vaping is not without harm but is a far safer alternative to smoking.  

I had my last cigarette as I made the switch to exclusive vaping and for the first time in my adult life I don’t have a desire to smoke and have none of the signs or symptoms of being a smoker.

A mate had to leave his own country of Australia because there was no choice for him but to leave because of these crazy laws. And yet, I could go buy a packet of bloody cigarettes.

A simpler, more straightforward regulatory approach would be more practical and effective in ensuring product safety and quality control.

It would be much easier to go back to buying cigarettes. I’m sure there are many other vapers who find themselves in my situation. The new regulations DO NOT WORK.

I am married to a very experienced doctor, and she is very supportive of my vaping rather than smoking cigarettes.
